C.A.M.P. Inspiration G NYC Inc. (CIGNYC) is a non-profit organization, supported by a powerful cohort of teachers, students, and urban art pioneers; all deeply connected to its mission – saving the lives of children who have a dire need for positive reinforcement, protecting kids from violence in their communities, and disrupting the community to prison pipeline.
CIGNYC’s central mission is to create a camp that truly embodies the spirit of the Equal Protection Clause. We will be providing a diverse academic environment and unique experience that include children from all walks of life.

Our main objective is to create an environment that helps to level the playing field and provide all students– regardless of race, socioeconomics, religion, etc.–access to a rigorous curriculum designed to provide them with strong academic foundations in the realms of literacy and STEAM that will aid students in terms of demonstrating proficiency on state assessments and NYS NGLS learning standards in all subject areas. In addition to academics, CIGNYC aims to create well-rounded and holistically educated students through sports, and a culturally relevant and diverse arts program that focuses on poetry, rap music, dance, and art. The core of CIGNYC’s mission is to prepare all students for excellence and success in high school, college, and career.

A “family group” will meet daily to provide students with academic guidance, support, a strong social network, and opportunities to collaborate with teachers and peers.
CIGNYC’s Logo represents challenges communities face domestically as well as globally. Our hummingbird symbolizes hope, empathy transformation, and healing. The distinctive colors around the bird represent various struggles- cancer, mental health, diabetes, homelessness, Parkinson, Alzheimer’s, earth’s rehabilitation, drug and gang violence that shapes the characteristics of the world we all share; the center hummingbird is gold representing success, achievement, and triumph, key elements of the conceptual design of CIGNYC.
